Bitcoin Scrypt

The main purpose of creating BTCS was to increase decentralization of bitcoin. Basically, the code of the currency replicates BTC, but the hash algorithm SCRYPT is taken from LiteCoin (LTC). BTCS was positioned by the developers, in fact, as bitcoin 2.0, which led to an embarrassment. In 2013, it was not customary to give forks such names, and this caused confusion in the main forum branch of the currency. Worse, there were reports that the BTCS wallet was deleting the BTC wallet when installed. Then this problem disappeared, but the currency’s popularity remained extremely low for a long time.

In 2015-2016, the capitalization of BTCS was about $10000, but recently the developers decided to return to active refinement of the currency. This included moving it from pure PoW to hybrid PoS/PoW mining. This led to a sharp increase in the rate and capitalization of BTCS, but so far this bitcoin remains the last in our rating.
